Biding Systems - binder rings
The most used binding system is the binding rings mechanism, existing 3 types:
- mixed (the most common ones because of their greater effectiveness)
- round (not so common)
- squared (practically in disuse).
Mixed rings
Shaped as a “D”, half round, half square.
It is most practical as paper can be passed better from one side to the other. Its capacity is measured from the base to the inner peak altitude and it is placed in the back cover.
Round rings
Its capacity is measured interiorly from left to right and they are almost always placed on the spine.
It is mainly used for school folders.
Within this type of mechanism, there is a great variety of steps, heights and bases.
The most common step (distance between one ring to the other) is 80mm. and the bases (also called caña “cane”) 21, 26 and 29.
Depending on the ring that is placed in the folder, its spine will vary based on the ring’s capacity.
- As far as the sizes of the ring mechanisms we can find from 16 mm (one of the smallest ones used) to 65 mm (although there are bigger ones, they are not longer used). The standards mechanisms are those of 2 and 4 rings.
Other binding systems
Apart from the ring mechanisms, we can provide bindings with mini tweezers, indented tweezers, wire tweezers, fastenher mechanisms, etc.
Handles
Handles in injected plastic and folding handles. Handles in polypropylene troquelada en plano (coined flat), nylon cord handle.
